La Bienal de Flamenco de Madrid bursts onto the cultural scene as a firm commitment of the City Council to consolidate the capital as a benchmark for the art of flamenco. In its inaugural edition in 2025, it will be directed by the prestigious bailaor and choreographer Ángel Rojas. The Biennial will take place throughout the month of May in emblematic municipal venues such as Matadero, Teatros del Canal, Teatro Español, Paco Rabal and Pilar Miró.

For example, in April, the Oslo International Flamenco Festival presents its ninth edition with the theme “Evolution: Flamenco – The Next Generation”. This program, very much in line with Tran Tran, explores the delicate interplay between tradition and innovation. In May, the Bienal de Arte Flamenco de Málaga brings us big names of the genre and some premieres. Flamencos y Mestizos de Úbeda offers us an innovative proposal with surprising fusions. Also the renowned Flamenco Festival at Sadler’s Wells in London will bring together stars such as Sara Baras and Manuel Liñán, bringing flamenco to an international audience. And of course, the prestigious Alburquerque Festival, with nine days of performances and workshops, will be the opportunity to enjoy the best of flamenco.
